When a profile needs openings, slots and machining from multiple sides. We choose from the Ariel, Atlas, Kosmos, Gianos, Falcon, Nike, Geos, Taurus and Aydo families; the number of axes and the clamping method are adapted to the product geometry.
Start with the material, profile cross-section and length, then identify the drilling, milling and tapping operations. Access to the sides and ends determines the axes and any angle heads required. Axis travel is not the usable machining length with every tool.
What does DPM mean?
On the MC 304 Ariel 4A DPM, the machine automatically positions individual clamps in sequence. The clamping arrangement affects batch setup and tool access. Send a profile drawing showing the operations so we can check the tools, clamping positions and programming requirements.
Three, four or five axes?
Choose according to the faces and angles the tool must reach. For holes and slots on different sides, also assess whether the profile must be turned or an angle head used. More axes do not replace a suitable working envelope and proper clamping.
What is needed to check a software connection?
State your CAD system and provide a sample file with the required operations. We check import, operation preparation and transfer to the selected machine controller. Support for a file format alone does not guarantee that a complete part can be made without preparation.

Clamping
The profile rests on supports. The clamps hold it outside the machining area; the tool remains retracted.
Approach
The electrospindle, toolholder and milling cutter share a common axis. The assembly first approaches the surface; the cutter then enters the material at the cutting feed rate.
Machining
The electrospindle rotates the cutter. A uniform longitudinal feed at a constant depth gradually forms the slot. The profile and clamps remain stationary.
Retract
The tool is first lifted out of the material. The profile remains clamped until the end of the operation. Multi-sided machining requires the appropriate configuration.
